Sample 4 - Front Face of Spar A nice shot of a VERY subtle compression failure on the face of the spar. Note again the jagged pattern of white lines that highlight the failure.
	Sample 3 - Top of Spar This is an image for the Smithsonian. Note the irregular pattern of the compression failure just to the right of the pointer. Then note vertical white lines to the right of this. The ones on the right are NOT compression failures. The first one to the right is about an inch long and is probably a scratch in the finish. The larger one farther to the right appears to be the beginning of a brush stroke from applying the finish.
