    Floats on fuel sending units.

It appears that I'm not completely done with my plane. Both floats on the fuel sending unit leak so I won't be flying it until I can get them replaced/repaired. They look good but looks are deceiving. Is there anything that I can use to coat them, dip them in, or replace them? Since they are...

Red line on a Frankie 150

I put a new tach in my 1413 with a Franklin 150. In looking where to put the red line on the tach, I find differing numbers. One place says it should red line at 2500 rpm, another said 2550 and a third suggested 2600 is the correct red line. So I'm asking the experts: Where should I put the...

    Project update.

After many years and thousands of dollars I have been able to taxi around the airport in my 1413-2. When I did my static RPM test with my Aeromatic prop, I removed all of the weights as well as the bolts holding the weights and the digital tack showed exactly 2500 RPM total. According to the...

    Not Bellanca related but...

I got to fly a friend's SR22 turbo Cirrus today and am amazed at all of the "bells and whistles". I have 800,000 reasons why I didn't want to land it because it is too slippery for me. :D

    Oil cooler for 1413.

I started my engine this week and found a leak in the oil cooler. I have removed it and took it to a certified welder for repair but I see some rust on it as well as a bit of a bend on it's top. Are all of the oil coolers steel? Are there oil coolers available for sale anywhere? Gary

I want to know which 1419 Lynn Ford flys. I got to meet him last week in Oshkosh and have some information that may be of interest to him. Gary Brink

    Oshkosh

Even though I had lived in Eau Claire for a number of years, I never made it to Oshkosh during the big event. (High stress job, etc.). So I am going this year for the first time and am curious if any of you are planning to attend. Specifically, I need to "investigate" how the gear up warning...

Electric gear assist on a 14-13-2

Has anyone added the electric motor that helps to lift the gear on a 1413-2? I put new bushings throughout the landing gears because they were loose. Now they are tight but it is extremely hard to raise the gear. If it has been done, how big of a job is it? Gary

    Torque on a Cruisair prop.

I have checked everything that I have but can't find how much to torque the bolts on my Aeromatic prop. I have the 150 Frankie if that makes a difference. Can anyone tell me how many pounds of torque to use? Thanks, Gary

    14-13 parking brakes.

Alas, I have found the problem with my leak. After replacing a brake line, I took the parking brake apart and both sides are cracked. Does anyone have a pair of Scott Model 4200 parking brakes you are willing to part with? Gary

    14-13 Door

What do 1413s have on the door to keep it from hitting the wind screen? Is there a strap on them? I looked at a 1419 and it has a rod in the bottom of the door to stop it's travel. My 1413 has nothing. Thanks, Gary

Anyone interested in a fly-in to Alexandria?

EAA 702 of Alexandria, MN is exploring any interest in a fly-in week-end in beautiful Alexandria, MN where most of our birds were built. If there is enough interest, we would invite anything built by Bellanca. A friend is an active member of the Viking group so he is checking the interest...

337 for Whelen wingtip strobes, anyone??.

I have my Whelen wingtip strobes installed and operational, however, the 337 that I have is kind of funky? If I turn the document up side down and hold it up to a mirror I can read a few of the words. If anyone has a legible copy I would sincerely appreciate a copy. Thanks, Gary

Master links for gear chains in a 1413.

I finally broke down and ordered some new master links for the gear retract chain. (Diamond #25). The master links cost forty four cents each but the shipping was about seven dollars so I ordered a half dozen. If anyone needs one just let me know. Gary.

    1413 bottom aileron cables.

I am curious about the routing of the bottom aileron cables. There is a small pulley on the bottom of one of the "floor braces" that I expect it must go through. However it doesn't appear to go under the outside bar so the floor board would pinch the cables. I know this isn't right but I am...
