    Nose bowl question

When I bought my 14-13-2, it had an Aeromatic prop with a long bolt in the center of it that protruded through the nose bowl with a nut on the end of it. I sent the prop to Kent where the hub was rebuilt and the blades replaced, but it came back with a short bolt in the hub and the original...

    parts for 14-13

I added a note to the landing gear trunnion nuts topic but I don't think anyone has looked at it since my post so I'll give it another try. After reading about the landing gear trunnion nuts, I learned about the trunnion nuts and I also learned that I don't have any. Does anyone have an extra...

    Cruisair window.

I believe this was discussed some time ago, but what are the pros and cons of the Cruisair window that will open vs: the non opening window? Mine has a window that will open and I like the idea of being able to open it on hot days. However, I'm at the point where I need to decide whether to...

    Wing bolt for a 14-13 2

Does anyone have an extra wing bolt (the long one) for a 14-13 2? I have all four of the short ones, three of the original longer ones and a bolt that was probably removed from a combine and used to hold the wing on the plane. :) Gary

    Aircraft fabric

About forty five years ago, part of my job in the air force was to recover control panels using cotton and dope. Today, I covered the first wing of my 14-13 2 with Poly Fiber and what a difference it makes! Very forgiving and easy to work with. I'm sure there are other fabrics on the market...

    Alternator for Franklin 150

In a post earlier Dan mentioned a "Denso" alternator which reminded me that my Frankie 150 hsp still has the original generator and I have added wing tip strobes as well as an encoding altimeter in addition to the radio, GPS, etc. I'm fairly certain that my old generator can't handle the...

    Door seal for 1413-2

Can anyone tell me where to find a door seal for my Cruisair? I'm talking about the seal that goes around the door. Gary

    Fuel pump gasket

OK, I finally have the hanging furnace working so I have heat in my garage and can work on my bird. Where can I find a gasket for the fuel pump for a Franklin 150 hsp? The fuel pump has a fresh overhaul but I don't have the gasket to mount it back on the engine. :?: Gary

    Cat problems??

I would ask if the cat got all of your tounges but in this case, I guess it would be typing fingers. There has been so little activity on this site that I fear most of you have stepped on your writing hand. Oh well, maybe we can just chalk it up to getting ready for Christmas, but you have to...

    Exhaust system gaskets.

I sent my entire exhaust system to Dawley Aviation in Wisconsin for restoration. The system is beautiful and looks like new. (Most of it is new.) However they do not have the new gaskets and were unable to tell me where I can find them. Any suggestions where I can find new exhaust manifold...

    New tail number

My 1413-2 project has a new tail number. It has been 74419 for sixty two years but I was searching the FAA web site and found the number 1413A is available so I bought it. I've never really liked five numbers on an airplane so when I done, I'll be flying 1413A. The project was in Texas but...

    Another Aeromatic Prop question.

I got my Aeromatic propeller back with new blades and a fresh overhaul from Kent Tarver a few months ago. It is currently hanging on the wall of my garage waiting for me to finish the project. In visiting with Cy the other day, he mentioned that I might want to contact Kent to see what I might...

    Beware of spammer scams.

Be aware that the spammers who invaded our forum are now trying to scam us. I have been advertising for a used transponder on the fly market and you would be amazed how many people now have one for sale even though their English is so poor it is barely legible. I also have received...

    Headliner problem

OK, it has been too quiet for a while so I'll throw out one of my MANY problems with my project. First, a bit of advice for first timer like me. Don't start with a project that consists of a couple of pick-up loads of parts plus wings, fuselage, engine, etc. I'm at the point where I'm...

    Anyone know this airplane?

I am about a year into a restoration of a 14-13-2, N74419. I purchased it as a project but were no log books. Does anyone know the history of this plane? :?: Gary

Trim tab hardware for 14-13 2

I am missing the small metal part that is screwed into the elevator and I believe there is "pin" that is inserted into the inboard side of the trim tab. I expect that it wouldn't be hard to make one except I don't have a pattern. Does anyone have an extra one or a pattern that I could use to...

    Trim tab on 14-13-2

I recall stories of problems with trim tabs on the 14-13- 2...maybe on all of the 14-13s so my question is: If I decide to have an extra hinge put on my trim tab, will that require a 337 or what do I need to make it legal? :?: Gary

    Electrical wiring for Landing lights

I am finishing my second wing on a 14-13-2 and am in the process of putting in the landing lights. There are no old wires in the wing but it looks like there were two wires. Why couldn't I use one heavier wire with a the braided metal shield to run the lights? Simply use the shield for the...

    Viking seats in a Cruisair

I remember some time ago about the topic of seeing Viking seats in a Cruisair but nobody seemed to know where to find the 337 for it. I just received my new, fresh 337 to put Viking seats in my Cruisair. If anyone is looking for a copy, just let me know. Gary garylbrink@yahoo.com
