    Lycoming Trials...what model ?

I've seen some old promotional ads about trials did with Lycoming engine..I think about 100 hp...maybe in the 14-12 ? about the same power as the radials..but much slicker. I bet dan has some background on this , and why they went to the franklin. Franklin is so much more easily and...

    AD 75-20-06

19-3A's and Vikings just got hit with a change in their tail support structure AD - Alexandria's fix kit apparently NFG..so they "fixed ones" are back to periodic inspection. Points up a need even for us low powered cruisairs to inspect this area well at annual. FAA's estimate to cut out...

    Real Men Sew

I got my Manly new Pinking Shears in the mail, so went down to the festival of horrors, and pinked the edges of the 38x 5.5" ceconite patch I had waiting from yesterday. Dutifully glued and squeegeed in the patch. NFG ! Fabric was so slack that I got a nice dishpanned patch, that heat was...

    The "Selling" Distraction

I guess the goose isn't going anywhere, either by way of a trade or sale. And it's not just for the usual franklin/wood wing " reasons", but because there are simply better looking bellancas offered at astoundingly low prices. Even some 260 hp bellancas. I had thought I could trade her for...

Approved Epoxy for wood repairs ?

AC 43 mentions epoxy along with Rescorcinol-Formaldehyde Resin in it's discussion of approved adhesives. BUT, it says all adhesives used in wood repairs must meet Mil Spec, AMS, or TSO standards. So, the question is this. >>> :?: Can anybody name an epoxy that meets one of these...

    Cruisair "Ceiling "

Now that the engine is in fine fettle, I decided to take her up as high as she would go, and see what I got. Since 12,000 is sometimes warranted for crossing the Sierras safely... I needed to see how long that was going to take, and what the ship would be like when I got there. Short answer is...

    NO BFR in Cruisair

Damn CFI refused to give me my BFR in my Cruisair. Now I am having to learn to fly a warrior just to do it, and pay for the privilege. Seems he wants me to fly to "PTSD" standards too. Is this normal or hooey ?

    Stupid Generator Question

Is there an oil seal on the input end bearing on the cruisair generator. Mine leaks nicely... one of the last leaks on the engine... and it doesn't really appear to be primarily from the mounting gasket. Figures there must be seal there.. and that the oil is leaking from the accessory case...
