Does anyone know of a source or 'How to make your own' - main gear strut oil seals? I have found two versions of an 'O.D/ I.D.best fit' neoprene seal but never fit tight enough, and the gear oil leaks out. Both a mess and can't keep oil in the struts.

I own a 1946 Cruisair 14-13-2 N86728, purcahsed in 1991, still flying. It was a complete rebuild/restoration project in the mid 70's. I cannot find the data plate. I have been told about a few different places to look for it but no-joy. Give me some more hints on where to find the data plate.
