    Great Sky-Tec starter support

I replaced my original starter with a Sky-Tec at overhaul about 8 years ago. My 14-19-2 has been mostly sitting until recently with the engine perserved in a climate controlled hangar. When the attached starter relay failed I drove unit to Hartzell Engine Technologies enroute to a Florida...

    Bellanca Flight Instructors

I noticed some expression about a lack of experienced flight instructors for Bellanca aircraft. Maybe we could use this thead to promote Bellanca qualified instructors around the country. I’ll chime in to offer services in the Northern Illinois/Southern Wisconsin area. I’m based at C55. I’ve...

    100 Years of Bellancas

I’m posting this on the various Bellanca forums. As you read in the last Bellanca contact, I’ve been drafted to help out on the 100th year celebration of the production of Bellanca aircraft. EAA said they’d work to find a spot for a small group of us to park in the Vintage area for qualified...

    Lee Bottom

One triple tail departed shortly after we landed.Didn't get a chance to talk. The turn out was very light, about 25% of normal. The weather was OK but looked threatening. Wish the economy or whatever makes the aviation community vibrant would improve!

    Main Fuel Tank Selector 14-19-2

The detents for the left, right, and off selections have become extremely weak. Otherwise the valve seems to work good. Anyone know how this is repaired :?:

    Cost of Ownership/Flying

Well, my plane is snowed in the hangar again, and I'm a bit bored. I decided to take what action I can during the lull to increase flying activity in general. I decided cost is the biggest barrier. I notice EAA, AOPA and other alphabet groups finally feeling a growing concern about the shrinking...

    Overhaul Stuff

Well, I missed a summer of fly-ins while overhauling my engine. The reason I overhauled it was because it had been 35 yrs since the last overhaul and Continental recommends 11 years. I had over 1800 hrs on the 1500 recommended TBO engine. This annual I had 3 cylinders with low compression, 2...

    Barnstormer Cruisemaster Ad

Nice Cruisemaster advertised in Barnstormers (Taildraggers Bellanca). Besides the nifty motorcycle yokes the cowl flap placard caught my attention. Didn't know that was an option. http://barnstormers.com/cat.php?PHPSESSID=130cccb65ba2ed3da7e9355dd155d0f5

    Auto Fuel STC

I would like to better control fuel price. Our carbureted engines are approved for auto fuel in other airframe applications. I recall that there is a process for obtaining a onetime auto fuel airframe STC. Google didn't help on this one. Does anyone know that process?

    Overcoming 14-19-2 Cranking Challenges

For the most part, I've been rocking the prop through one compression stroke at a time the last 17 years. Fortunately the ol' O-470 starts easy. I noticed the Type Certificate Data sheet shows the the Exide battery weighs a bit more than the Gill G-35 I've been using. I noticed the Concord...
