The O 320 A2D in my 79 GCBC has always indicated between 125 and 140 F. According to Lycoming the optimim is 165- 185 . What does anyone else have?

How about cht? I have a one probe alcor on the # 3 runs around 320.

I agree on checking the oil temperature gauge. For you information though, my 0320 always ran 180 degrees, pretty much consistant hot or cold ambient temperature. There is a vermatherm valve that controls the oil flow through the cooler too.

I had my AP check the temperature of my oil with two different dip stick temp probes and a laser temp reader. All three agrred that my oil is 185 degrees when my guage reads about 140. Does anyone know of a good replacement?
