14-19-3 Nose Gear Strut Assembly

In the spirit of good preventive maintenance I decided to rebuild the nose gear strut on 35R. Before doing so I performed a disassembly on another complete, but slightly damaged, nose gear assembly from a salvaged -3 that I purchased for parts. I discovered that the bushing and seal configuration in the upper strut is quite different between the two units. Most disturbing is that the primary “wiping” gland on 35R (my flyable machine) has no retaining ring or snap ring to hold it in place. This whole exercise leads me to my ongoing frustration about the poor quality of engineering documentation with the triple-tails. Does anybody have a cross-section view of the -3 nose gear assembly that they would be willing to share? I think it is slightly different from the Vikings??? Appreciate any feedback – Thanks, Rob
