14-19 throttle control

Just completed the annual for my 14-19, and would like to pass on a "heads-up." At the end of the inspection, I and the IA were going to taxi out to do a high power, and check the vital signs. When I gave a push to the throttle, there was no resistance from the control.
Mine is the original cockpit control, and has a tube surrounding the cable from the back of the panel. The tube is swaged to the Boden cable, which leads to the carburetor. The swage came loose, and the cable was free to flex, without actuating the throttle lever on the carb. This would have been a very interesting situation had this happened inflight.
Bottom line: This is something to scope out if you still have one of the original cockpit controls. The mixture, carb heat, and prop control cables on mine are swaged connections, as well. But they look to be of better quality.
Happy trails, Tom Robinson
