150 franklin rods

I am rebuilding my 150 Franklin and the rods I have, have the oil holes for lubing the cylinder walls, the new bearings are not drilled for oil hole. Called and talked to supplier and they said they did away with them in the 60's. I would think the top of the cylinders could get dry and get piston scalding. What do the franklin guys have to say?

Made some phone calls today to Chris and another ole boy in Georgia that use to rebuild them, both said they changed the rods out in the 60's and no longer use the oil holes. With out the oil holes you would have higher oil pressure and longer bearing life and we all love higher oil pressure! Thanks.
