160 HP for 1979 7GCBC

I am interested in upgrading my 79 7GCBC 150 HP Citabria on Floats to a 160 HP. I would like to do this without changing the engine mount from the conical to the dynafocal mount. The present engine is an 0320-A2D 150 HP. I would like to make the change by just adding the 160 HP lycoming pistons. Has anyone done this and if so was it done with a lycoming service letter and/or an STC?

Thanks
Tom

I just had my engine overhauled and had it upgraded to 160 HP. The STC is with (Ly-Con Rebuilding Co.) they are in Visalia, Ca. I hear their are others. The STC # is SE00252SE. The only problem was getting it signed off for the airframe(7GCBC). Finally got it under a field approval. You might want to check with a local IA to see what will be involved with the FAA in your area. There are a lot of 7GCBC's with this mod. B

Good Morning
Thank your reply and STC information on the 150 HP upgrade. I have been toying with this idea for some time. However, the thinking part is over. I had an engine problem last week that required the removal of my engine for overhaul and now it is time to act. I want the 160 HP upgrade. I am in Canada and have to deal with Transport Canada. Would you have a copy of your field approval that would assist me in convincing them to approve the upgrade? I would really appreciate the effort if this was available.
Thank you
