1965 7ECA- how to jack-up ?

Hi all, my just purchased 1965 7ECA / 0-200 with oleo gear needs new brackets on the wheel pants. How are you folks fitting a jack under the wing strut fitting? The service manual indicates a special brackett for the jack, but the photos are no better than black blobs. Is this a part that can be purchased? I really need to do this, the top brackett is broken in half. Any help would be appreciated.

if you don't have a jack fitting you can attach a comealong to your tie down bracket and pull down on the opposite wing from the wheel that you are wanting off the ground. I have done it several times. It is suggested in the owners manual. Jim Raleigh

Thanks Jim, The problem is I am in a hangar with nothing to attach to on the floor. I just saw a drawing in a 1985 Aeronca Club Newsletter showing how to push and prop up at the upper strut attach points on the side you want to work on. There was also an idea to jack up the fuselage at the yoke on the bottom center, with some weight attached to the opposite wing tie down ring to tip it in that direction. Almost everyone recommends a engine hoist that I don't have access to.

Thanks for your reply,

Bill Bradley
