:? I'm possibly buying a 2002 Citabria 7GCAA and would like to know if this model is impacted by the spar AD. I have read the info on this web site and it appears the AD came out in 2000. Are the same problems existing in the 2002 models. Thanks for any info you can provide. [/list]

Anything 1990 and up is exempt.
Basically, the AD covers wood spar wings. 1990 and up are metal.

There are tons of retrofits as well for the older ones, so its not so clear on older ones. (1980 and older)

Jerry,
Wasn't there a couple of planes built between the time that Bellanca stopped and ACA started. Do you know anything about them?

They were sort of a big mystery. Likely, not the most honestly sold....
They were wood spar as well. Basically planes that were nearly complete on the assembly line when Bellanca closed the doors in 1980. Couldn't be more than a few.

I searched the FAA's database by serial # and if I remember 1216-86 was the last I found. I think 1215-80 was the last that Bellanca made, that plane was for sale I think last year, want to say it was in Kentucky. I had been looking to see where my plane fit, it was #1208-80, I think it took it's first flight in March of that year anyway these planes have a long history!!!
