406 MHz Antenna Location and Mounting

I have a 1969 7GCAA Citabria that I want to install a 406 MHz ELT. The current 121.5 MHz ELT from ACK has the antenna connected to the ELT directly. Where should the 406 MHz antenna be mounted?
 
I have looked at the installation manual for the 406 ACK and it says that the antenna can be mounted inside for fabric and composite aircraft. I was hoping to hear from some Citabria owners on how theirs is mounted.
 
I already had my old 121.5 antenna mounted on the wing root fairing, so when I installed my new 406, I put it there where the old one was.
