67 7ECA cowling wraparound upgrade

Have a 67 7ECA under complete resto. As most know, on that year access to the brakes is gained by removing two long threaded screws and the lower half of the wraparound just flexes open.

No hinges designed here, so most that have delt with know, you end up over the years with dents and flex stress on the lower wraparound.

The upgrade to the new style wraparound from ACA that basically has a "pan and fastner attachment for brake access requires an investment of approx $ 4000.00. New firewall, changeover to single exhaust, etc,..

Anyone ever upgraded?, and if so, did you use ACA for the parts?

Any help appreciated

Gosh, I don't know that I'd call that an upgrade. It's just different. Dropping the boot cowl is so fast and easy it's silly. For four thousand dollars I'd do it while holding my breath, standing on my head underwater.

I did this one time and would advise against it. Everything firewall forward is different. ACA was able to supply the parts needed and were a pleasure to work with.
