Hi Guys.
When did the early Citabrias switch over to spring landing gear from the oleos?

Also ... when did the early 7ECAs start having the 0-235 rather than the 0-200?

I am looking at lots of 7ECAs, and it's not always clear which gear and engine they have installed.

Thanks,
Tom Sampson

Hi Tom,
The first Citabria's with spring gear was in '67. I am not sure but I think that is also the same year the 0-235 was first installed. Just a coincidence but that is what I own and love flying it!

Hey ... a 7ECA owner is Portland ... I am in Tigard.
Can we hook up via email?
I would love to speak with you about this and other 7ECA items of interest.

Hi Tom,
I'm on the Olympic Peninsula and have a '68 7ECA. If you have any questions, send me an e-mail at tomr@olympus.net.

If you're looking at 7ECAs, one thing I wish I has was the 18 gallon tanks. My 1970 7ECA has 13 gallon tanks and was probably one of the last ones with them. I just don't have the range I'd like to have.

My machine is a 1965 and has the oleo gear--pretty much the same gear as on the 90 hp Champ, as far as I can tell. I also have the 100 hp Continental engine.

I have a 1966 7ECA with oleo struts and an 0-235. I am still learning to fly it and get my licence. I just soloed two nights ago. Having a blast.
