7GCBC Seat

I am looking for a new front seat for the Citabria that would have removable cushions so one could sit in it with a Pilot Parachute.
Does anyone know of a place that makes them or sells them?

Thanks.

You are really only looking for the cushions, the seat frames are the same whether you want removable or not. I'm not positive, but Oregon Aero might make some.

OK thanks ill check them out. Or maybe I can strip my original seat and set it up for a parachute, and get cushions made up for it.

The one I have has a slip cover that goes on the seat frame, with velcro to hold the thick cushion. When you have the Chutes on, you just pull the cushion off the velcro. I can't explain it any better, sorry.

Ok thanks osxuser, another general question, do the seats that yourself and other people are using comply with the AD 89-16-06? ie. the front folding seat needs to be welded again: the two reinforcement trusses had not been welded into the seat frame during manufacturing.

Contact Dodd Stretch at Airtex Interiors. He has a good knowledge of AC aircraft. He can make a set like those described earlier that Velcro to a sleeve that covers the frame.

Mine is old enough that it has both seats fixed, neither has the folding back. It's somewhat cumbersome, but not awful.
