Howdy, first post.

Flying a 2000 8GCBC and was wondering if there was any way to get past the 90 mph speed limit for the open window. I really like flying with the window open but it starts vibrating about 80 and by 85 the reason for the speed limit is evident.

Would an additional latch at the front of the window help? A small airfoil on the INSIDE lower edge of the window to provide upward force to the leading edge of the window?

Guess I could just duct tape the darn thing.

There should be a lug about 1/3 the way up on the front side of the frame that you pop rivit a hinge to (the other end of the scissor hinge to the window). This restraint only lets the window open like 4-5 inches on the bottom. However, the speed limit is then 130 mph.

Well on my GCBC the window was recently replaced by the past owner. It seems he had ignored the speed restriction and the left window came off in flight! The front piano hinge segment opened up and them the read hinge pulled out the wounting screws from the window frame.
