8GCBC Nav Antenna Challenge

After cutting into the vertical stab of a late model Scout to install the new Comant 157P.

I find the holes in the mount are not only the wrong size but are wider apart than the holes in the antenna by about 1/8 inch.

A simple job turned ugly, as they often can.

I am contemplating slotting the holes on the antenna since its near impossible to drill a half hole in the mount.

Any ideas or thoughts?

Jerry, Your help as always is appreciated

Trade it in for new and have us factory install the antenna...

(Why is no one laughing)

Anyway. Just be careful with that...most of the antenna is just filler that you could 'oblong' the holes 1/16 each. Is it posible to oblong the holes in the bracket? Just because the holes are not round, does not mean they wont hold the antenna. Maybe a die grinder or something?

Given that you would be bearing against the aft side of the front hole 'slot' and the front side of the aft hole 'slot' the antenna would still not move. I guess I would try to make the bracket work for you. Its not part of the Stab's structure. Its just an L shaped piece of steel for the Nav antenna only.

Note all of this work is too delicate for my hands!
