Hello All,
I have a 1974 8KCAB Decathlon with the Bellanca fitted inverted oil system (STC SE7CE) on an IO-320 (not the Christen system). Problem is it doesn't work! Turned the airplane upside down today to test it and immediately the inverted oil pressure warning light came on and the oil pressure gauge rapidly headed below the 20 psi red line. Does anybody have any experience with troubleshooting this system? There is a mercury switch activated pump, which I'm not sure is working properly, but from looking at the diagram in the service manual I'm not sure that is vital for the short term operation of the system, is the 'Oil Baffle Trap Door' a more likely suspect?
Thanks for any help anybody can give me.
