Just wanted to make sure everyone saw this:
http://www.flyingmag.com/ad-prohibits-aerobatic-flight-in-decathlons?src=SOC&dom=fb

From what I read, this AD only applies to late model airplanes, particularly the Extreme Decathlon and any newer SuperD that have the balanced ailerons. 2012 and later models I believe. Still, it's a major issue that I hope can be rectified soon.

I have a 1978 Decathlon 8KCAB s/n 394-78. I have no idea of the P/N of my ailerons, or whether they are balanced. I have wood wings with original aileron design, having the spade on the inboard ends. Can I just ignore this AD then?

The affected ones have a gap between the wing TE and the aileron LE. On all the non affected ones the nose of the aileron is tucked into the TE of the wing and they have gap seals. None before 2012 are affected.
