greetings!
anyone ever done an alternator conversion for the O-435-A / 14-19 cruisemaster? i can't find any evidence of STC or even field approval. i realize the engine is a bit of an orphan; not likely a big money maker for anyone. just thought i'd poll "the faithful". thanks in advance!

Vic, I did some looking for an alternator conversion for my 14-19-2 which has a Cont. O-470. I found that national airparts had STC's for this crate. Jack Miles (Engineering) is the man to talk to. He can be reached at 1-800-713-1111 or NAPI@cfl.rr.com. The web site is http://www.nationalairparts.com. In my case it was much less expensive to repair my generator system which I did and now works great. The conversion would of cost me $1600 so for about 500 I fixed the generator system. As a matter of note to you . I installed your 3 position fuel switch along with a home grown Westburg resistive fuel sender system and it all works well with what I have. A capacitive system would be much better but for the horrible way Bellanca wired their airplanes. LYNN N9818B

Jasco has one that will fit I believe, Vic. I saw it in Wag Aero for about 900 bucks, including regulator and STC (though the STC does not cover the A1 O-435, it does cover many other 435 variants). This one in particular fits a most odd assortment of engines, from Lycoming radials to GO435s. In short, give Wag Aero a call.

hey guys!
many thanks for the suggestions! i'll try Jasco as they are just "up the street" here in Los Angeles. if they don't have anything on the shelf, perhaps they can help develop something that will work.
