Aluminum rivets vs pk screws on ribs????

My wife and I are recovering our '69 ECA. We are currently mulling over which type of fastener to use to attach the Poly-Fiber to the wing & tail sfc ribs. We experimented with each on a test rib and found that the rivets seem a little smoother under the tapes.

Is there any "bad karma" associated with using rivets??

Please offer any suggestions or experience.

Thanks

If your original ribs used screws, you have to use screws.
Basically the upgrade to rivets involved thinker ribs. If you have .032 ribs; your gold.

Reference Service Letter 85.
(Which says they did the change in '67)

If you can use rivets, do it! They're super easy to install. I used an attachment to my cordless drill (from Spruce). There are also pop rivet tools that use compressed air.

Rivets are easy to remove, too, so don't worry about the karma thing :)
