Another learning moment

Hello all

Got to fly the ole bird yesterday. It was a beautiful day. I have worked on the fuel gauges and got them all up to speed. So on this short flight I figured I would use up the fuel in the aux tank. Well, I ran it dry. No fuel pressure, no more zoom! Selected the fullest main tank but did not turn off the aux. I could not get fuel pressure, even frantically pumping the manual pump.. So an unscheduled landing on an old airport. Always have a place to go! Landing was uneventful except for the cows, the RC modelers, and being deadstick. Once on the ground I was able to reestablish fuel flow with the aux tank turned off.

Seems a bit illogical to turn off a tank to reestablish fuel flow, yet makes sense. I guess I missed that part before. So ya'll can learn from my mistakes.

My 14-19-2 is placarded for that issue, and with five tanks, three of them aux's, it is very important. I think they all are supposed to be?? Bet yours will be now!! Brian
