Auto Fuel or 100ll?

Does anyone have trouble with the plugs fouling on 100ll fuel?I've heard auto fuel works best in the lycoming 0-435?

This problem was solved when my engine was overhauled with high compression pistons - the sort used in O-290s to make them O-290-Ds. A far more practical solution is to use Alcor TCP in the fuel. I believe it's being manufactured again after a hiatus.

This is a lead scavening agent and comes with a marked syringe so that you add enough TCP for the amount of fuel in the tank. It has worked wonderfully in my Luscombe.

The 0-435 in various versions was a 73 or 80 octane engine. 100 "low lead" has a very high lead content. (It is only "low lead" compared to straight 100, which had twice as much lead as 100LL.) 100LL has 4 times the amount of lead that 80 octane fuel has. TCP (Tri Cresyl Phospate) worked wonders in my piston helicopter for many years, never a bit of lead buildup on the plugs.
