Big engine decision

The O235-C1 on my '74 7ECA has bitten the dust. Major expense and time required to get it running again.

I am considering upgrading to 150 hp.

I spoke with ACA and Dan at HO Avn, the holder of the STC. Many things to think about.

Has anyone here converted a 7ECA to 150 HP? If so, what process did you use and how did it go?

Also, does anyone have the drawings required to do this upgrade?

Ron, I don't see the need for using an STC, as the TCDS A-759 is the same for the 150hp models. I think all you need is to buy the engine installation drawings from ACA, and any other drawings of areas that would need to be changed.
ACA sells all the drawings, I have purchased several.

Would that it was that simple Bill.
Even with the STC guidance we are in week 4 of the change and are talking with ACA and ordering additional parts almost daily because either their "kit" of parts was not complete or something needed was overlooked. Really not ACA's fault, as every aircraft is different and no one is really sure which aircraft generation needs which generation of part.
If we had to do this on our own with only the TCDS info, drawings and ACA input it may not be impossible but it certainly cost more in both dollars and time by the time we got it all figured out.
To do it using ACA's service letter requires the B2B 160 hp engine, new ACA wings and gear plus all the electrical and fuel system mods. That route is financially not feasible, for me anyway.
I was lucky enough to find an A2B engine and prop off another Citabria.
Also, I have a lot of parts from the 7ECA and O-235-C1 engine I'd like to get rid of.
