hey guys, in kinda new to the citabria thing but i was wonder, i have a 1976 7gcbc an was wondering what it would take to put 29 bushwheels on this plane? Thanks alot, wondering what i would be looking at for cost also

I looked into this awhile back for my citabria cause i found a good used set of 26" bushweels on ebay. You need the heavy duty brakes, and hd axles(scout axles). call Wup at alaskan bushwheels, he has everything. i do see scout axles for sale on barnstormers from time to time, otherwise i think they run $500. the brakes are about $1,500 or so.

My buddy, (he posts on here) put them on his Scout last year. There were things such as already stated that needed upgrading. You will definetly want better brake. The compund leverage you get from the larger diameter tires can make your stock brakes nearly worthless. I have the 26" AkBushwheel Airstreaks on my Champ and really like the "marshmellow" like landings compared to other tires. If you truly need the bushwheels they are a great tire.
