Cee Bailey landing light lenses: don't bother

I purchased a pre-formed landing light lense from Cee Bailey's for my Cruisemaster. At 70 bucks I figured it was worth the time savings.
I then spent 3 hours trimming every edge to make it fit, only to find that the curve leaves a small gap on the leading edge.

Would have been better off just starting with a sheet of plexi.

Finished off the new lense with stainless screws with plastic washers and a thin bead of silicone around the edge of the lense to seal it up.

When it came time for a new landing light lens for my 14-19, I bought acrylic sheet from Aircraft Spruce. Made a basic shape to match the wings leading edge out of scrap aluminum sheet. Put both in the oven set to about 230 degrees. Trimmed to fit. Worked great. Still installed after over a dozen years. You can buy a lot of acrylic sheet for $80. Tom Robinson

Mike, please give us a report on the quality and fit of the factory supplied lens. Thanks
