Cerminil Cylinders by ECI

I'll put this out there, in case anyone hasn't heard this. I had ECI of San Antonio apply the Cerminil process to all my cylinders (O-435A) at overhaul. This annual inspection revealed a flat cylinder during the compression check. Looks like it's may be an exhaust valve issue(400 hrs SMOH). But I have found out that any cylinder with Cerminil is a throw-away, and can't be overhauled. Hopefully, my cylinder can be repaired(new seat and exhaust valve), but if it needed an overhaul- it's a dead duck.
If anyone is considering Cerminil, you may want to reconsider. Tom Robinson

Not so. I recently called ECI about nickel cylinders I had put on a Cherokee in 2009. They have 126 hrs on them and now the engine needs overhauled. ECI gave me an RMA and said to send the cylinders back to them and they would make them like new for 2/3 cost of brand new. I have not done that because the owner is now facing spending lots of money. Yes, it is always about money! Lynn the crate
