Citabria Control Stick Diameter

I'm wanting to replace the stick grips on my 7GCBC. Can anyone tell me the control stick bore size? The grips come in 3/4", 7/8", 1" and 1 1/8".

On my 7KCAB the diameter was 3/4". I bought teak wood pistol grips but they didn't fit since there is a small curve in the stick. Instead I went to a bicycle shop and bought a set of mountain bike grips and used them. Lubbed them with soap and they slipped on easily. Best grips I have ever felt, especially during acro. Cost about $15. Mounted the PTT in the center with the use of a washer that I inserted in the grip before sliding it on the stick.

I put the bicycle grips on my Champ sticks, too. A really nice thing I learned at the bike shop is to install and remove the grips with a blast of compressed air between the stick and the grip. They slide right on and off.

The Champ sticks are 1 inch OD (at least in '58 they were).

I made an error in my previous post of the diameter of the stick on my 7KCAB, it is 1" not 3/4".

I went ahead and ordered a set of these to be installed during the annual in March. Hopefully the work out OK.
