I have the older 1968 fuel tanks, not the square ones, but the ones rounded on the front and back with the baffles. Has anyone changed those tanks for the next model of tank, made sometime between 68 and 70, which are rounded on the on the sides as well and have no baffles. Ron at Rainbow Air says they should fit with no modifications, except maybe longer piece of pipe for the gas line. Both styles hold 18 gal. of fuel. Just wondered if there are any special tips or quirks about substituting these tanks. Newer tanks are just a little bit wider where the sides bulge for the weld. Is there a trick to getting the new ones in easily? Has anyone actually done this switch?
