I used a piece of thin carpet from Lowes or Home Depot to make my "chafe" protector. I cut it little wider than the seat frame. At the bend between the seat bottom and back, there was a double fold in the carpet edges that worked out perfect to protect the parachute seat pack from the hardware used in the hinge. I have used this for many years without any abrasion on the parachute.
