Marilyn & I just got home from our first Columbia Fly In.
We had a great time and would do it again.
Our son, Peter flew his 14-19-3a and brought his wife & kids. the town of Columbia had enough activities to keep them busy while Peter and I attended the maintenance clinics.
The Stage Coach ride, with Bandit Hold Up was a big hit for them.
Meeting some of the people I've been blogging with was great!
Your planes are wonderful.
We stayed until after breakfast on Sunday, and blasted off @ 09:30. I flew direct to Roseburg @ 8500 MSL, met with Peter & crew, borrowed the FBO car, and had lunch, then continued on the S36 @ 6500 MSL. We just beat the bad weather comming in from the coast, it was great.
I've only had 9800B 4 months (21 years since I last had a Cruisemaster) and re-joined the Bellanca Champion club, but finally I met Robert Szego, who pestered me to stay a member when I no longer had a Bellanca, and to rejoin when I got one.
I was the first person to win a raffle item, a Cooper Tire Baseball hat! How's that for our first fly in?
