Constant Speed Prop STC

Hello - I'm soon to be a new 7GCBC owner and I am trying to find out if there is an STC to put a constant speed prop on the plane. The primary airport I operate out of has noise sensors and being able to pull it back for a few minutes if I take off early in the AM is real important.

It is a 2001 model with the 160hp engine.

Can't wait to get it!

Here is the link to the FAA STC database:

There are a couple of STC's for your airplane to upgrade to 180 hp and Constant Speed Prop, plus one that appears to add a Hartzell HC 82XL or HC-C2YL prop to your 160 hp engine. That STC is owned by Bachner's Aircraft Service in Fairbanks, AK. STC Number is SA283AL.

I think this was Jess Bachner who was one of the pioneer airmen of Alaska. He died in 2003 at age 84. So the STC may be inactive, or still offered by his family. You might need to call the FAA FSDO office in Anchorage and ask about that STC number.

Good luck,

Larry
