Covering Cruisair wings?

Okay- I have received some peculiar advice about wrapping the Poly-Fibre around my wings and want to know if anyone else has heard of this...

My source says the factory covered the Cruisair wings diagonally starting at the wing root and wrapping the fabric around kind of like a candy cane if you know what I mean :? He said this was done to conform to the planform (top view) shape of the wings and to eliminate the need for leading edge tapes. Interesting :!:
I had planned to just wrap it aroung chord-wise with fore and aft tapes in two places, but this style of covering on a plywood-sheeted wing actually seems to make sense to me
Any history on this :?:

I wraped mine from the root out. Put the full sheet on the top and wrap around the front. The only tape you will have is on the bottom were it will not be seen. I have no tapes along the leading edge. The one thing you need to pay attention to is on the bottom it is concaved. Make sure you have it all glued down before you run the Iron over it. remember you only want to shrink the cloth on the wing just enough to remove all wrinkels. Do not shrink to 350. I belive I had my iron set to 250. The wood will absorb a lot of heat from the Iron, so it will take some care. The only thing the cloth is doing on the wing is protecting the BEAUTIFULL WOOD. It is a shame to cover it up. Good luck
