cowling fasteners

Has anyone replaced their upper cowl Zeus/DZUS/Camloc style fasteners with something else? Just wondering if there is a better way.

My '79 Decathlon had Southco fasteners which I replaced with AN526-1032 machine screws and nutplates - similar to new aircraft, I believe. Much more robust.

We went to #10 machine screws. Slower to remove the cowl, but always tight.
Technically, Its not really a cowling you are supposed to remove unless you are having maintenance.
