Cowling Louvers

What is the purpose of the four vent slots, or louvers, only on the left lower cowling of some Decathlons? Does this improve air flow and help the oil cooler? Is there a factory kit, SL, SB or drawings?

Its for 180 HP only. I am pretty sure it was for some added flow on the back side of the baffle wall. Therefore, drawing more flow. Left side must have gotten a little more heat; so they put them there.

Functionally, you can adapt the 8GCBC cowl flap and get similar results that are ground adjustable.
