One of the flap return springs on my 1946 14-13 broke and I’ve been looking for a replacement with no luck so far. Here are the measurements I took on the old spring:
OD = 0.357”
Wire diameter = 0.053”
Total length = 6.75”
Body length = 6.00”
Pull rate is approximately 4.2 lb/inch based on the following (measured on a trigger pull gauge)….
0.50” = 2.5 lb
1.00” = 4.5 lb
1.50” = 6.5 lb
1.75” = 7.75 lb (I can only measure to 8 lb)
Mike at the factory said that the spring I removed is not the correct part. Does anyone on the forum have the specs on the original part, or can you recommend the best place to get a couple of springs made based on my measurements? Or… perhaps someone could measure one of their springs to see if they differ from mine?
