Decided to sell my Cruisair project

NC74392

New member
Not sure if this is allowed here, but I wanted to let you guys know the best 14-13-2 Cruisair Sr project ever is now for sale in the Fly Market.
It was a hard and depressing decision to make, but I finally had to be totally honest with myself. Certain events and circumstances in my life just won't let me finish NC74392.
I don't plan to leave BCC- in fact I have high hopes of still making the fly-ins in a year or two. From the few I've met, there is no finer bunch of people.

Dave, you have been a valuable, productive contributor to this forum for a long time. I am so sorry to see you are selling your project. Maybe you can buy a flying plane...this is a great time to be a buyer! I have said that if I stuck a $20 bill on mine, I might get $10. I hope you do much better. Am glad that at least you will be staying with the club and this forum. Good Luck!! Larry

I guess I can kind of "share" a little.
I've managed to develop type II diabetes. Dr says it may go away if I lose about 150 lbs. Sp far I've lost 30 so I'm doing it.
Margaret (wife of 32 years) and I have a second house we've been trying to sell for almost a year. If something happens and it finally sells, it's possible I'll still finish 392, but I just can't wait any longer. It's been 20 years since she last flew. It's long past time she flew again.
Margaret had to quit nursing. Her feet are in rough shape (hammer toes, bunions, etc.) and her left knee is shot. we're now a single-income family (us and the cats n dogs).
I don't know what God has in mind for us...
as my friend Dolphe says: "Life is hard and then you die."

Dangerous Dan, I feel your pain. I echo everyone's thoughts that we are glad you will still be hanging in here.

20 years is a LOT of dedication. Same hand writing is on the wall for me, after only a few years.
Like L.L., 50% back, but it's ok. I'll be passing on the bird ( eventually) in better shape than it has been in the
last 30 years. Bucket list checked. Better- younger-richer owner will be found. All good.

So, we all pull in our horns, do the things we can do, leave the ones we can no longer do behind.
Enjoy and be thankful for life as we know it. Wife happy, life's good.

Good news is, we didn't wreck the plane, kill ourselves, or fail to see the writing on the wall.
Big Pluses !

This beats the planes I see, neglected and untouched for 30 years, covered in filth, while the owner still thinks
the plane is the same as when they last saw it.

We are caretakers for these planes, which will apparently outlive us all.
We each leave our marks.

It's a privilege Like working on a Dusenberg.
Not many get the chance.
