Dimmer

Well just got rid of the dimmer in my airplane and replaced it with a MaxDim. I will never go back now. This thing is so slick, it installed easy, and is smooth and cool. Fully STC'd. They also have a device called the MaxPulse. Check them out here http://www.maxpulsemaxdim.com

My airplane is in the radio shop now getting a new intercom. I previously installed some Electronics international gauges. i have their dimmer for the LED lights, but the backlight on the gauges is blinding at night. So i thought about having the shop install the MaxDim, but 140.00 bucks to dim the lights? I told my radio man to hold off for now. looks like a good product though.

myscout,

Which dimmer did you throw out? Did you leave the map light (upper left side) in? what instruments are you dimming and do you have panel lights? Where did you mount the MaxDim switch?

Well I replaced them all. Mounted in same hole. These are not $140 if you do a little shopping. I do know that this is the last time you will ever replace a rheostat, these are going to go the distance. call the maxpulsemaxdim guys and tell them of this forum. They will probably fix you right up.
On a side note - these will dim LEDs very nicely. No sharp turn on or off. Just a nice transition from off to full on. No snap on/off.
