Elevator Trim Flex Cable Failure

The flex cable in my Cruisair’s elevator trim has failed. The tach cable partially unraveled and completely broke at one of the swaged fittings. Can the square torque tube swage stud be reused or is necessary to fabricate a new one? The torque tube measures 7/16” a side and is 2.5” long (square part). The cable appears to have been 3-5/8” long.

Any suggestions appreciated!

I sent a spare I had to an ole boy in Georgia that was going to duplicate it, Bruce Kowen? 770-548-2238 he use to rebuild the Franklin engines in his younger days, he helped me out when I did mine. Very smart on the franklins!!

Yes, you can reuse the fitting. Some where on this forum is a factory drawing of the Cruisair trim cable. You should try to search this Forum. Robert should have a copy of the drawing. The club sent it to me back in the early 90's.

regretting that i sold my Cruisair!

Larry, I have not yet flown mine but it has been a labor of Love so far, had many other projects as this through the years , makes it extra special when you finally get to use them!
