It is my understanding that Wisconsin will go exclusively to alcohol blended fuels this summer. A product with questionable science or economics, is being forced at us with no alternative except 100LL. So much for cheaper flying

Call/write your "glorious leaders" and tell them to put in an exemption for premium. Minnesota did something to that affect. Not all stations carry it but several do. They just list it as non-oxygenated fuel. It is for snowmobiles, collector car, etc.

I reciently sold a Cessna 150. The buyer was located in Brazil, and the aircraft was going to serve as a primary trainer for ag pilots. I was told that they use 100% ethanol as the fuel in their aircraft. What is this about? I have also found a web site for a company that sells the equipment to make ethanol at home for the purpose of powering your automobile. What is it that makes ethanol unusable in our aircraft and ok for automobile use? I understood at one time the alcohol ate tank bladders and fuel system seals. This would indicate that aircraft with metal tanks and the correct seals and hoses would possibly be safe and able to be approved for use with alcohol, or would it not? The automobile system indicated the cost to produce the ethanol to be about $.94 per gal. I can only dream. Anyone have any insight as to how they successfully fly with 100% alcohol in Brazil.
