Does anyone have any experience with carrying (cross country) skis lashed to their Citabria wing struts? FAA Policy N8900.314 seems to govern for Alaska but how about the lower 48? I can't see where it is specifically prohibited in the POH. Anyone fabricated or had field approved a ski tube? Thanks a lot for any input.

Flying into a wall is also not prohibited by the POH....

Anyway, If you lashed the skis in the jury strut area, I would think its fine. You mostly have to consider what sort of lifting body you are strapping down. You are exposing said item to a good amount of dynamic pressure, and you don't need forces generated from this. For example, I don't recommend a surf board.
