Can anyone tell me if these would work on a 7gcbc? How would I find out what aircraft these are approved for?
Thanks,
Ryan

7gcbc Type certificate will indicate what skis you can use.
Had Federal 750 for my Bakeng Deuce that was 1400 lbs.
2 X 750 =1500 lbs so I was OK
Are these 2500 won't be too big/heavy for you airplane?

Alain.

Hi, I would possibly be interested in installing this model skis, AWB2500 or AWB2500A, or C2200's on a 8GCBC. Would like to hear from anyone who has been successful in getting either of these field approved on a 7GCBC or 8GCBC. Thanks, Tim

Hi Bat443,
I'm also looking for skis for a scout. Perfer hydrolic wheel or just wheel penetration.
Hard to use straight skis as I work off pavement lots.
Let me know if you find anything.
I been trying to get ahold of Aero with no luck yet.
I think I may be able to use some Aero R-2800's.
Thank you
Ken.....

Hi Ken, talked to Aeroski yesterday, still have not recieved approval of the stc for the R2800 on the 8GCBC. they said they may have to use a DER to get approval. Tim

Sorry Ken and all.
A DER is a Designated Engineering Representative, an individual designated by the FAA, and given the authority to approve data for repairs or alterations to an aircraft or engine. The FAA has their own engineers at the regional level who would/could approve data submitted by individuals or manufacturers for STC's (Supplemental Type Certificates) which are changes to an aircraft or engine TC (Type Certificate) or Field Approvals on a FAA 337 on a one time basis. Often times it takes a while for the FAA to get to your request, to process it, request changes, wait for changes to be submitted, approve or disapprove, anyway you get the picture. This is where DER comes in, he/she may approve the data, or generate and approve his/her own data which, which then meets the requirements for engineering review by the FAA and approval is sped up. Of course you have to pay for this, where as it is free from the FAA.
Aeroski has been waiting a couple of years to get approval, it may be that the FAA just doesn't have anyone with expertise with ski installations. So for them the trade off is, will there be enough interest to cover the cost of hiring a DER to get approval.
Sorry for the long post, Tim
