Front Seat Move Back

Does anyone know of STC for modifying front seat to move back an inch or so? I am aware of the adjustable seat sold by Champion ($800).

I have the adjustable seat in the front of my 65 7ECA and find there is only about 1 hole spread for adjustment due to either interfering with the front stick or rear stick. Before you spend a lot of money and time, check the clearance of the rear stick if you move the front seat back. There may not be enough movement to warrant messing with it.

Agreed. My front seat also moves about an inch or so. There's a pocket on the back of my front seat. I had to ask a passenger to remove some things he had put in the pocket because the rear sick was hitting it. There's not much room available to move the seat.

One advantage over the fixed back seat is that the seat back fold forward when entering the back seat. It can be a little tough to load the back seat and baggage compartment with the fixed back seat.

Mine has folding seat back and sliding adjustable seat base on the front seat. I just recently added the required cable for the rear folding seat back. When I bought the plane, the sliding seat was in the rear(with no holes for the cable attachment) and the non adjusting "rear" seat was in the front. It had the holes for the safety cable attachment.

After verifying that the seats met the AD requirements, I swapped the seats and added the safety cable to limit the movement of the rear seat back. However, I used quick clips rather than cotter pins so I can take one end of the safety cable loose easily if I need better access to the luggage compartment.
