Fuselage covering woes

OK I've about had it. I'm at the point where I'm gonna cut the new envelope off 392 and start over.
First, there's the wool headliner. Looks to me like it's going to flap all over the place even after tightening with water. Aren't there any bows on top of the headliner with loops like on a Stinson :?:

Second, I laced up all three vertical stab ribs instead of just the middle one. I'm not real happy with that, but I can live with it.

Third, I had to peel off the 2-inch tapes and replace them with 3-inch tapes. I used Poly-Brush reducer to peel them off and wipe the fuselage seams down. After replacing the tapes, they look like they have bird feet tracks and snowflakes under the tapes
What th'?

I'm not looking forward to re-stitching the fuselage spine, but I'm not entirely sure it's unavoidable!

Sure could use some advice on this one...

I just couldn't strip off all that hard work I put into the fuselage envelope. Instead I used my head and replaced the vertical stab fabric and hand-stitched it to the envelope. Looks OK :)
I found out I needed the Poly Brush mixed with the reducer/ retarder (R5800?) instead of using the straight reducer. It was just drying too fast in this hot/ humid climate.
Much happier now :D My IA is coming to have a look at my hand-stitching today 8)

Why did you replace the spine tape with 3". You make all the mistakes & tell me how to do it right.........! Ken McCune

After consideration, I decided to stay with the 2 inch tape on the top stringer. It looks better in conjunction with the 3 inch tape on the fuselage corners not to mention the 3 inch bias tape over the vertical stab pulls down to about 2 inches when pulling it around.
Things are looking up! :D 8) :D
Scott Thomas- if you're out there, I'd like to make a public statement that you are a fine gentleman and a great source of covering information. We of BCC are blessed to have your expertise :!:

My IA stopped by and gave his blessing to my hand-stitching on the vertical stabilizer. Looks like I'll be laying tape tonight if it's not too hot.
My enthusiasm is a bit dampened by Vic Steelhammer's death however...

Blue Skies forever Vic.
