Generator - Alternator replacement

Hello all, new to the group but excreted to get going. I am looking to swap out the generator on my O-320B2B 160hp. I have searched the forums and haven't found much as for specific numbers or if it even possible on this engine. Plane Power website lists this model but it looks as though it's replacing an already existing alternator. If there is an STC'D replacement already, do you need a new regulator or is it just a plug and play? Thanks so much!

The deeper I look the more confusing it is. Standard flange vs. wide Flange ect. but in the meantime. I found some manuals, they seem to be original, thought id share.

Again, any help of repalcing a Delco Remmy 1101900 Generator (12v 35a) with an alternator would be greatly appreciated. BandC doesnt make oe for the 7GCAA yet, but its in the works.
mounts, regulators, stc...anything would be great.

Plane Power is an excellent product (I put one in my Citabria), and includes spacers and shims needed for installation. You will need a Zeftronics Voltage Regulator; they are very friendly and will help you over the phone. When you buy, see Aircraft Spruce or Wag Aero, as their prices are lower than the manufacturer (!)

Robert,
Thanks so much. Now my novice will come out. Do you have to get a field approval or are P.Power alternators STC'd for the a/c and/or engine? either way an AP has to 337 it correct?
thanks again

Both products are STC/PMA legal and come with paperwork. All you need is a logbook entry (might need an A&P to sign off, but not an IA)

Also, read the directions carefully on the Plane Power; there is a shunt that has to be removed if you have the Type "A" electrical system.
