Has anyone replaced thier fuel valve lately?

Hello,

My 7KCAB just developed a slow leak in the fuel shut off valve, and I have ordered the kit from ACA to rework the valve assemblies. Does anyone know what kind of shop times and labor this kit should entail? Or, is installation easy enough to do some of this work (properly-supervised, of course) by oneself?

Also, by any chance is there a Citabria-friendly mechanic in the Dallas/Fort Worth area? Thanks!

I installed the fuel valve kit in my 1979 cgaa. The kit calls for a new bracket welded on for the valve. I fabricated a bracket to attach to the old bracket with screws. This changed the location slightly of the fuel tube thru the firewall. I believe I had to shorten it slightly.
Grinding off the old mount and welding on a new mount would be extremely difficult without major disassembly of the airplane.
You also have to fit your cowling afterward and drill a hole for the gascolator drain.
