How big is to big?

I am a new owner of A 7KCAB that came with 31" bush wheels. Are these wheels just to Big for this plane. Would 26" of 29" be better for the aircraft based on gross weight and ground handling at slower speeds? Could I expect any noticable faster airspeeds out of the smaller tires?

If your thinking about selling them let me know. The biggest problems with them are you cant land on payment, cause they will wear them out in no time, slows your air speed down and they do weigh alot. You would only need them if your planning on doing some extreme landings which is real hard on wimpy stock landing gear.

I've got the 26" on my Champ and they are really all I need. They are actually no heavier than the tires that I replaced on my plane. Having said that I would LOVE to have 31's though. Just couldn't afford it at the time.
I'll be second in line after shouldhunt if you are wanting to sell the 31's. It all depends on what you are doing with the plane. If you are not a backcountry flier I sure wouldn't keep them on. Why the heck wear out a set of EXPENSIVE tires if you don't need to.

I'm using 26" Goodyears which have held up well for the past five years. If I had 31's I would put them on, too expensive though. Next week I'm going to put some 26" Bushwheels on the plane and see how they do.
