Intercom jacks

Bought my first Citabria this fall, a 1970 7ECA, and I am working thru my punch list of things to fix. The intercom jacks in the back seat don't work. They are loose in their mountings and reception is intermittent. They are installed in a strip of right-angled upholstered trim under the side windows. I can't figure out this trim is attached. Does it just clip into place? Don't want to pry until I am sure I can.

The trim strips in our plane are thin aluminum with vinyl covering. They are attached with push clips that simply push down into holes in the steel piece welded between the tubing and forming the window frame. Be careful prying them up because the aluminum is so thin it will bend easily but the clips should come right out. It is easier, sometimes, to just push your hand up under the aluminum piece and continue until the clips come out. If memory serves me, there are only three clips on the right and 4 on the left. The entire left side comes out in one piece, in our plane, all the way from back to throttle of the front and it's like a flimsey noodle when out of the plane.
